An interesting thing happened to me yesterday. I had met some asian boy but had forgotten his name. And I was with one of my white friends. I asked my white friend (out of earshot of the asian dude) what his name was. ANd my white friend shrugged and said “Erm im not sure, Abdul? either that or Paki.” Now i’m fairly comfortable around this friend and usually i’m fairly used to that word being thrown around every once in a while. BUt why shud i be used to it? It is a derogetary term, and it makes me think those who use it around asians, do they use it in private conversation with others? I don’t know its osmething that ive not been able to shake and its kinda been stinging at me for vaguely accepting it. so i thought id put it somewhere.
